Description: Elective Pay is a new mechanism that allows tax-exempt entities to file a tax return and receive a reimbursement for a portion of their project costs. IPA is interested in ensuring that entities across Illinois leverage federal incentives for their solar and other clean energy projects, including by using Elective Pay to reimburse up to 30% or more of project costs. To further that goal, the IPA will be conducting outreach and providing education on this new tool. We are inviting eligible tax-exempt entities to IPA’s first webinar on Elective Pay. Please share the registration information with your relevant clients, including municipalities, public school districts, nonprofits, and other tax-exempt organizations that have placed a clean energy project in service in approximately the last year or so (or who will soon do so). IPA will be hosting a second webinar for Approved Vendors in the coming weeks.
