Large Distributed Generation, Group A, Block 5 Now Closed

< Back to Vendor Updates

Group A Large Distributed Generation (DG) Block 5 was closed as of March 29, 2022 at 11:59 PM Central Prevailing Time.

The Program Administrator announced on March 22, 2022 that Group A Large DG Block 5 had reached capacity. As outlined in Section 1(B) of the Program Guidebook, once the allocated capacity of a block has been reached, the block will remain open until the earlier of seven calendar days or 10 MW of additional capacity is submitted. Any Group A Large DG applications submitted as part of a paid batch on or prior to March 29, 2022 at 11:59 PM Central Prevailing Time were allocated to Block 5, and thus will receive Block 5 pricing, provided that the application fee is paid within 10 business days following batch submittal. Any Group A Large DG applications submitted as part of a paid batch after that time will be added to a waitlist.

Project applications are selected from the waitlist as projects ahead of them in the relevant Group and category that have been allocated to a capacity block are withdrawn. A project’s selection from the waitlist is based on sufficient capacity being vacated by withdrawn projects, not on a one-to-one project relationship. Part I of a project application will be reviewed only after it has been selected from the waitlist. Because the rate of withdrawals is unknown, it is not possible to determine if or when a new project application may be selected from the Group A Large DG waitlist and thus be considered for an incentive through the Program.

At this time the schedule for the opening of a future block of capacity for Group A Large DG is dependent on the approval of the Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan by the Illinois Commerce Commission.

Remaining capacity in the Program can be viewed via the block capacity dashboard.
