The Illinois Shines program announces the release of resources and materials to enhance the stakeholder experience, including new consumer-oriented collateral, enhancements to the Program website, and the launch of the Illinois Shines Data Report. The materials reflect the Program’s ongoing commitment to educating and supporting consumers and other stakeholders about opportunities and benefits of going solar with Illinois Shines, and the Program’s progress in supporting the development of clean, equitable energy in Illinois.
The following materials and enhancements are now available to stakeholders:
- Introduction to Illinois Shines: Solar Basics & More – This new resource is designed to support consumers interested in going solar, and provides information on solar basics, renewable energy credits, and Illinois Shines incentives, project types, financing options, and the Program’s consumer protection support. It also includes questions for consumers to consider and utilize when speaking with participating vendors.
- Website Enhancements – Since its re-launch in July 2023, the new Illinois Shines website has supported the addition of a high volume of resources and information for customers, participating solar entities, and other stakeholders. In January and February 2025, the website will introduce a variety of user experience enhancements, including new useability features, a Spanish language toggle, new and updated content, explainer graphics and animations, redesigned reports, navigational improvements, and more.
- Illinois Shines Data Report – This new report spotlights both Program Year To Date and Program Lifetime To Date data for key Illinois Shines Project, Participation, and Impact areas. The report will be updated each month, and augments other Program website data including the Block Capacity Dashboard, Project Application Reports, the Project Map tool, and the End of Year and State of the Program reports, as well as the Illinois Power Agency’s Clean Energy Dashboard.
Other new Illinois Shines tools including updated consumer protection resources are forthcoming, with publication details to be shared in the Program’s weekly announcements.
