As previously announced, the Illinois Power Agency (IPA) introduced the Illinois Shines Scheduled Energization Date Extension Request form for the 2026-27 Program Year, replacing the email submission Extension Request process. The new form streamlines the submission process and automatically notifies necessary stakeholders at the IPA, Program Administrator, and Utilities upon submission.
The Extension Request Form went live on June 1, 2026, and can be accessed on the Project Extensions and Removals page of the Illinois Shines website. The IPA provided a one-month adjustment period in June, during which extension requests submitted by email were accepted. However, as noted, starting July 1, 2026,the Agency expects all Extension Requests to be submitted through the Extension Request Form and will not accept requests made via email.
