As previously communicated, on May 2, 2025, the annual block of capacity for the Small Distributed Generation block has been filled. Section 1.G of the Program Guidebook provides for a soft close period which allows the block to remain open for seven calendar days or when the next project application submitted to the block would exceed capacity by 10 megawatts (“MW”). A soft close period was initiated for the project category on May 2, 2025.
On Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1:16 p.m. CPT, the soft close limit of 10 additional megawatts of capacity was reached through projects batched and submitted to the block. As a result, in accordance with the Program Guidebook, any applications batched and submitted to the Program under the Small DG group/category after the conclusion of the soft close period will be placed on a waitlist. The original block size for Small DG was 208.17 MW and as of the conclusion of the soft close period, the total batched project capacity for Small DG is 218.17 MW.
The Small DG block is now closed, and a project waitlist for this category can be found on the Program website at https://illinoisabp.com/block-capacity-dashboard/.
At this time, new capacity for this category is planned for the 2025-2026 Program year and expected to be available on June 2, 2025.
