As announced in January, the new Illinois Shines website this Winter undertook its largest refresh since its July 2023 re-launch. Since the 2023 re-launch – a centerpiece of the Program’s brand refresh and transformation of two public websites – the site has continuously added a high volume of resources and information to support consumers, participating solar entities, and other stakeholders. Users rely on the website for information about going solar, benefits to participating in Illinois Shines, resources, updates on Program progress, engagement opportunities, and more.
- The Program concluded the refresh project this week and today introduced a variety of user experience enhancements and features to support visitors. Highlights include:
- An updated home page with dynamic content showcasing the benefits of going solar with Illinois Shines and the Program’s role in reaching the state’s renewable and clean energy targets
- Content refreshes and additions, including redesigned reports, refreshed help guides, topical “hubs,” new information on project inspections, a glossary, and more
- New visuals, animations, and graphic improvements to explain processes and concepts
- New usability features including improved search, navigational improvements, improved page organization, and a site map
- A Spanish-language toggle to improve access for more users
- And more
The Program remains committed to continuous improvement of the stakeholder experience, and along with other Program enhancements, plans further website updates. The Program invites stakeholder suggestions and feedback and publishes regular State of the Program communications and other reports to provide updates on Illinois Shines progress.
